Silent Conversations

Several of my works have involved some kind of telepathy or simply ways of creating heightened awareness of focus. In 1978 I did some pieces with Nina Sobell called Silent Conversations, often lasting several hours, in which we communicated with each other on some subliminal level. Then we made drawings separately based on these conversations.

We made drawings together, again in this manner, during the eclipse in 1999, Nina in France and myself on a boat in the English Channel (see Seaclipse: Sharing a Shadow). We arranged to do the drawings at definite times, in these two different places and the ones made at these synchronised times often matched up

Also in 1978, we made similar works with the German artists Johan Lorbeer and Reiner Bergman, performing across the North Sea between the northern shores of Germany and England.
