Moca – Trowbridge
The final event at MOCA (Moments Of Consciousness And…) Trowbridge, Feb 2018, which was Chinese New Year, began as a Private View in the MOCA space. Fortune cookies were given out, the messages from which were read aloud, both simultaneously and consecutively, by each person, as a sound work. Several visual works filled the space, such as the series ‘Illuminated thoughts of a Radiant Being,’ made throughout my time in Trowbridge, working directly from nature, often at sunset and sunrise, in all weather conditions. Totally coincidentally the artist Meg Mosley, with whom I had been loosely working for over a decade, calling ourselves The Worms, lived in Trowbridge. We discussed her taking the role of a town tour guide and leading people through the streets of a Trowbridge parallel universe called Trow Vegas. This tour began and ended at MOCA, where final events took place including a duet with Hugo Danino, ‘Open/Close.’

TROWBRIDGE from MOCA to MEGA
On 18.02.2018, in the palindromic, backwards / forwardness of parallel realities, wormholes
and multiverses, Trowbridge shall be stirred and shaken.
At 8pm, 19th February 2015, Chinese New Year, in Futuro House on the roof of Matts Gallery, London, Anne Bean invited the director, Robin Klassnik to randomly pick a fortune cookie, which was one of 84 she had produced, each containing the name of a different medium-sized British town. As soon as Robin revealed the name, Trowbridge, she left immediately for the town.
She had stated that she would open up a space called Moments Of Consciousness And…, in whichever town Robin pulled out.. The first stranger to enter this space she would invite to collaborate with her. Having accomplished both of these, plus many other manifestations, she prepares to leave MOCA Trowbridge, on Chinese New Year, Sunday, 18.02.2018.
You are invited to an afternoon of events and refreshments, from 2pm to 6pm, with local celebrity Megastar and her Trow Vegas gang, such as the shimmering Cheryl, the town crier, buskers and Trowbridge Museum staff, guiding a town tour. Actions will follow in Meadow Works, with Hugo Danino, and other locals along with ‘the stranger.’
The tour begins at MOCA Trowbridge, 15 Meadows Works, Court St, Trowbridge BA14 8BR where there will be a PV of works including the series ‘Illuminated thoughts of a Radiant Being’
