Radiant Fields
Matt’s Gallery, London
In 1998 Anne was presented with an award from the ICA/Toshiba Art & Innovation Commission for ‘excellence in research and inspirational use of technology’ which led to Radiant Fields a three screen installation shown at Matt’s Gallery, London; LAB, San Francisco and NRLA, Glasgow.
Radiant Fields uses high-resolution thermographic imaging which detects radiation in the infra-red range of the electromagnetic spectrum. Thermography makes it possible to “see” one’s environment with or without visible illumination. Using parallel digital images, Radiant Fields plays with notions of how we see and how we interpret our world.
For Radiant Fields Anne worked with Ansuman Biswas, Paul Burwell, Mary Genis, Swarup Menon and Ezra Rubenstein. It was filmed by William Raban and Begonia Tamarit.
