Self-Taut – Purfleet

Aaron Williamson, recipient of the Acme Cripps award, curated weekends of artists work who had been involved with Acme Gallery in 70’s.

I worked with early sculptural/performance ideas that had engaged me since childhood, to do with equilibrium, tension, fulcrum points, mass, weight, re-shapings and balancings, including the two early pieces Weighting and  Self-Taut, in both of which I used the weight of my body with a counter-balance that also referenced my body weight/mass.
