Evaporations

My Chana Dubinski self was commissioned by the Poetry Society to work in collaboration with the poet Alice Oswald on a film/poem, which became Evaporations, shown at the Southbank Centre, London as part of National Poetry Day in November 2013 and subsequently at several poetry festivals including Cork. I worked with Alice Oswald in an ongoing backwards and forwards exchange of images and texts. The final film used her words in several different transformative contexts such as melting ice-works, as small dictaphones with her recorded voice being washed and disappearing and re-appearing in and out of the water and Alice saying her poem in a cold storage unit so that her words produced plumes of misty breath in the air.
