The group Idiom curated an evening called Beyond Words. I recognised that Body Wonders was an anagram of Beyond Words.

Several books and poems came to mind that I had read in my teens, which had triggered awareness of junctures where language became bodily sensation. I used some of these texts as starting points, including Sylvia’s Plath’s The Bell Jar in which she powerfully captures experiences of mind and body entrapped and devoid of protection leaving words to spin around into body bodings. Within the work Body Wonders I literally cracked open a bell jar by the vibrations of continuous chiming. I invited the entire audience to be a part of the work giving out glass bells and whistles.
